Sleeeeeeepy time.... *grabbing Cog's arms*... Hey, Old Man, you get the feet this time! Took me a week to get the smell off my hands last time I got his feet.... *hauling Cog toward cage*... Hey, Sheldon! You just relax and take care of yourself. We've got this. And pay no attention to Cog. You know how he can be....
Re: TM.... goddamnit! I wanted him in the kitchen!
@Whitefire Re: "goddamnit! I wanted him in the kitchen!"
Simmer down, little lady! Simmer down!... Okay, fine. Have it your way. Just open the oven door and we'll toss him in there for you. Although, I strongly suggest you tenderize him first. And definitely use some marinade. No doubt he's gonna be terribly gamy. Just make up your mind pretty quick, though, please. This smelly bastard is getting heavy... *starting to sweat*...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAchoo!
@tescoshopper
Hey, make sure you sneeze into the crook of your arm, there buddy.
@Sheldon: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... I was ready for that! I knew it was coming!

Take care. You are not the type to do anything stupid and not taking care of yourself.
@typingchimp

re: all the pretty colors. Whispering softly in a sing-song voice... "Were gonna dieeee Were gonna dieee. Ha ha ha ha ha Were gonna dieeeee...."
Thank fuck I got up early last Thursday to try and get some shopping. Or I'd be living on porridge made with water by now.
You any better?
Cough is relentless, but I am still pretty certain it's just a bad cold. Anyway it's day 4 started, so nearing the halfway mark, and though the cough is frustrating and I'm glad there's no cat to kick, I haven't once felt I needed medical attention. Fingers crossed.
My boss text me yesterday, Sunday evening, to ask if I'd be back in work today. I politely apologised and said no. Ordinarily I'd be embarrassed to take time off for a cold, even with a cough this relentless.
Sounds like the virus symptomatology...were you tested? Does wales have a team to come out for in home testing? It must. If your tidal volume decreases, go to the ER.(if you feel out of breath). Viral pneumonia is the real issue with covid 19. Also, the infectious stage is thought to be 14 days, not 8. Not sure what your national health guys are saying though. Does your boss live under a rock? WTF...tell him that you can bring a killer virus to work, if he feels like rolling the dice with others lives. WTF.
Er, Wales, and no the current advice in the UK is to quarantine yourself and only contact the hospital if your symptoms worsen, and you develop breathing difficulties.
They should have seen me hacking my lungs up in the garden just now. Course the smell from the food waste bin definitely didn't help. Bins collected tomorrow, thankfully.
Corrected.
You should replace the dragon, with these guys...:P

Get well soon.

They don't deliver pizza & Chinese in the UK?
@Sheldon
"---and you develop breathing difficulties."
Have been reading about those 'breathing difficulties' from an article by respiratory specialist.*** Seems that 'the breathing difficulties can happen suddenly and are severe IE patient is pretty much Ok, then lungs will suddenly fill with fluid and patient can't breathe . I guess that's more or less manageable, as in call an ambulance if you are living with at least one other person . I live alone. In the scenario above, I suspect I might have a some problems even calling 000 .
This latest information has freaked me out. Right now, I feel like a mushroom, kept in the dark and fed bullshit.

"-----------I have patients in their early 40s and, yeah, I was kind of shocked. I’m seeing people who look relatively healthy with a minimal health history, and they are completely wiped out, like they’ve been hit by a truck. This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people. Patients will be on minimal support, on a little bit of oxygen, and then all of a sudden, they go into complete respiratory arrest, shut down and can’t breathe at all-------------.”

That's some serious shit Cranky. I realise you are keeping close tabs on your health, but I need to say maintain your vigilance and don't let anything slip. At the very least I have grown accustomed to your presence here at AR. At age 67 I realise I am as vulnerable as anyone despite my determined practices.
My girl and I have been holed up for a week (? I forget...I've lost track of time, but no cabin fever so far) with the occasional forage to the supermarket. Yesterday (Monday 23) was the Day of Lock Down in Oz...clubs, restaurants, pubs, cinemas, all shut...jobs gone...desperate ex-workers seeking unemployment relief lined along the streets and around the block outside government offices...the Federal government website shut down under the weight of enquiries. Bad times.
Every one stay safe.
I have managed, strange old bugger that I am, in my isolation, to memorise the Periodic Table, so far, up to No. 54 - Xenon.
I have been repeating what I have memorised so far over and over...She asked, with a look of surprise, if I was praying. On reflection I suppose I could say i had been...the recitation stills the mind and has an effect similar to intoning "Om" and what better words to utter than the names of all the elements that comprise everything in the universe, the very stuff of this plane of reality...or could this be the early stages of the dreaded cabin fever?...oh no...I've got to calm myself.....Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Beryllium....... .
And to fill the space of a double post I have added a timely caution from Barney the Dinosaur.

Addendum: My closest male friend is a retired computer programmer, and helps me with all kinds of tech shit. My 3 younger sibs are technophobes and useless.
Because he has health issues my mate has been self isolating for several weeks already . That means he doesn't come over for his weekly dinner. I began complete self isolation rather than just social distancing only a few days ago and don't like it much. . I can talk to the dog, but the conversation is a bit one sided. (so far)
I have been introduced to a free Skype-like app called "Discord" (all platforms) It's really meant for gamers, but works just fine for me. Recommended.
@Cranky: I might have a some problems even calling 000 .
Have you considered getting one of those medical alert pendants?
@Algebe
"Have you considered getting one of those medical alert pendants?"
Funny you should ask . I've been promising myself one of those for ages. I think it's time I got off my arse and get it sorted .
Thank you for the most timely gentle shove.
Have fifty agrees
@cranky47
Yes I have read about the symptoms and what to look for, and the initial symptoms can be very mild, indeed a lot of people are asymptomatic. A small minority can then become critical, my understanding is that the way the body's immune system attacks infected cells in the lungs can strip away healthy cells and with it the lungs protective lining, making them very susceptible to secondary infections.
My own cough has eased this morning 4 days in, i am still pretty sure it is just a cold, but given the PM has passed strict laws to curtail people leaving their homes now it is a moot point. I'll contact work after have been symptom free for 7 to 10 days.
Like crank47 I now live alone, I am in contact with friends and family, but if my symptoms worsen quickly I'll have to make the call myself. Be safe everyone, above all try not to worry unnecessarily, and remember the vast majority of cases show mild or no symptoms, the younger you are the more likely you will be fine, and be aware that underlying health conditions are seen more and more as major factor in the effect the virus has..So protect others by avoiding direct contact, and so that the pandemic escalates in numbers that won't overwhelm health care infrastructures.
I love old Tom. The bright and bouncy 'Poisoning Pigeons in the Park' is one of my favourites.
Strangely I don't recall having heard his Elements song before, but that could be an age/memory/encroaching parrots' Alzheimer thing.
Thanks for the head up, but typically Tom's artistic brilliance has run amok over the scientific importance of atomic weights and defiled the natural order of the elements. That's one hard fucking song to commit to memory. I would certainly get up and dance to "Element" anytime, but I must adhere to the more sombre sober genius of Mendeleev, strange, old, incantation mumbling bugger that I am.
I am sure Dimitri would have loved and danced to Tom's song too.
@Grinseed
"I love old Tom."
Me too. Same favourite . Also like the first one linked below . From 1967 (5 minutes 13)

RE: Tom Lehrer ! Absolutely love this guy. I have heard the chemical song before but never gave it a second thought, Now I have spent the last hour just listening to Tom Lehrer songs. GREAT! He reminds me of a outdated Tim Minchin, Obviously songs about the war and political issues of the time are no longer in vogue; but the satire and twist of wit is not lost. What fun!!!
@OMG: I found a theme song for the rolling pin lady hiding in the kitchen!
