Donate to Atheist Republic - Support a Growing Community for Atheists

Through no fault of its own, atheism has frequently been maligned by religious people. The majority of the population tends to misunderstand atheists as individuals who are immoral, faithless,  evil, and damned for being unable to adopt belief in a deity (or deities). Because atheists believe in critical thinking, and promote scientific reasoning, they often fall short of financial and other forms of support making it difficult for atheist organizations to be sustainable.

Big or small, all organizations need money to function. Moreover, since atheism is a subject few people want to discuss openly, it can be challenging to find investors who are willing to fund an organization that promotes it as publicly and unapologetically as Atheist Republic.

If you believe in what we are doing, and want the world to be more welcoming of atheists, please donate to Atheist Republic so we can reach more people with resources and support.

Atheist Republic has accomplished so much in a very short time, and we have big plans for the future. Without you, we could not have come this far, and with your continuing support, we believe our growing community will be able to reach even greater heights.

If you would prefer to donate by check please make your check payable to ‘Atheist Republic’ and send it to:

Community is important, if we don't tackle the key issues of our time, we will never be completely satisfied. Thanks Atheist Republic for giving us a voice.

Where else can I tell my buddy God, "enough with the father-son stories, it's time for the holy spirit to come." Freedom of expression, even if negative, deserves to be at least listened. AR guys are doing a great job, I'm sure the almighty won't mind.

I found you on Facebook and enjoyed what I saw and read. I have a desire to learn more about the thoughts and opinions of other atheists as I don't really know any personally. I am excited to check out more of your site and maybe make some friends who think like I do. Thanks for being here!

I have always been agnostic I guess.. I have always reasoned each and every act people do in name of their God and Religion. But I could never debate with Believers because I couldn't find enough points to describe how I feel, AR has helped me with enough facts to challenge the Religious evils present

I love this opportunity to share thoughts. As a Nigerian, I live in a country where everywhere you turn, you see religion in its diverse forms. Atheist republic is so much of an oasis for me. Here, I know that am not alone and I can be myself here and its really great.

This page... gives me an outlet that I don't have in the real world, living in a small, conservative town, surrounded by religious family members that I don't feel like I can talk to (Not even my own mother). I don't feel so isolated knowing that there are other people going through the same experience as me.

I'm happy to find a place that I feel accepted in. I'm normally repressed or insulted for expressing perfectly logical discussions about religion. If we must accept and live amongst religion, then religion must accept us!

I grew up a Catholic, very superstitious and religious (still don't really get the difference) because I was raised that way. I thought God to be everything good, at least I wanted to believe that until I gazed into his supposed character inscribed in the bible. I came to realize that it was the worst character ever written in print I mean theists call him righteous but he is guilty of every sin against humanity. I still didn't want to accept this or more honestly, I was afraid of hell if I ever questioned his holiness..... I came to a partial settlement that God made men, and then men made religion. Sounds a bit logical but it still didn't add up. I then came across the argument of morality versus salvation by Dan Barker (President of the FRFF) and all my questions were answered. Felt good making sense out of my own beliefs for a while, but then there is this loneliness that haunts you, I wouldn't come out to anyone, I'm from Zimbabwe, a modern day medieval society; you have no idea, we still get stories of witchcraft in newspapers down here and the government is informally theocratic, a 91 year old dictator who has ruled for 35 years through democratic means because church leaders say God chose him, and yes, homosexuality will get you a 5 year jail sentence. The secular world is very alien down here and so I became a digital Atheist. Atheist Republic became my safe heaven and provided me with refuge from all the religious prejudice I have to put up with every single day. I think religion is an insult to humanity as it is based on an assumption that we are a mistake by God (Genesis 6:6-7) and only a human sacrifice of his son who we should embrace forever are we purified and through this barbaric concept of human sacrifice shall we escape God's wrath (John 3:16). Anyone is free to believe that crap but they poison children with bigotry and hatred building up religious prejudice, they believe their imaginary friend is in command of everyone's life and we all should be thankful for his grace despite his evil nature; how's that for an insult? Everything went wrong when religion hijacked morality and humanity which we Southern Africans called ubuntu before the European missionaries came with a bible in one hand and a gun in the other. The gun was better because if you live by the gun you die by it, it led to the fall of the apartheid and colonialism, but the bible still haunts the mentality of my fellow country men to this very day. I support Atheist Republic and I hope its impact and message would spread to places like Zimbabwe where the secular community is in hiding afraid of stigma.

Dear Athiest Republic Community, You are doing a very good job by posting such content in the public sphere. It helps other atheists to understand that they are not alone in having a disbelief in a supernatural being and opposing ridiculous trends of religion. Knowing that other people share the same concerns as yours regarding the outrageous religious traditions also helps them emotionally and mentally. Last but not least, your posts in public spheres help people to be at peace being an atheist in the midst of all the religious dogmas. Once again, Thanks for creating such an online community. Kindly yours, Nagsen R. Kamble

I was raised in a very conservative Christian background – Jehovah's Witnesses to be specific. When I was about 17, I joined facebook like any other teenager but with an added twist. I had been doubting the religion of my family for quite some time. Long story short, if it wasn't for Atheist Republic, I would still feel like religion is a life-preserver instead of understanding that it more resembles a noose. I owe you all so much for saving me from the barbaric ideals that I once held as holy. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am from a Muslim majority country and have never thought that I could express myself. But, then there I have found AR and it helped me to opine and meet the equal-minded people.

AR is a community where atheists can be themselves and speak openly about topics that theists would typically chastise.

My life is like a bird in cage who dreams about flying. Most my friends are religious. My family is muslims. I questioned about islam since the day i understand the meaning of Quran. Atheist Republic is like a hope for me to be completely myself. Yes i am still hiding for my own security

I have been living in a country that intoxicate the young with religious fanaticism. It is really hard to break your shell and live outside the cloak of ignorance imposed by the adults. When you say something against their belief, their eyes pierce your body like bullets and their words will strike you down like a sword. This is the only place where I can be myself and not to be someone that society expects me to be.

I guess the reason why I can't be a Christian,is that I'm not so poor of character that I would even consider letting someone suffer in my place if I truly Deserved it. AR has helped me to see and know the world as it is..thank you

I have never been able to find many other, like-minded people. Atheist Republic gives me a home. Here we are one fight. We are one army. We are unified, and here, on AR, we have a rallying point, and a home.

I have been a atheist for a few years now but I have never had any I can talk to about it. My entire family are Christians and when I bring it up, they get mad at me and try and convert me back to a christian. It always ends up in a fight between me and my dad. I have never truly felt alone in this world until I became a atheist But now that I have found this page and see that I am not the only one going through these types of problems, my life has been looking brighter and brighter and I don't fell all that alone any more. I'm happy this page is here and I'm happy that I have found it. I thank you very sincerely

am from Ghana; proudly Atheist. I always wanted to meet my fellow atheist to share ideal on how we can also educate people about their religion ignorance. It is time Africa Atheist to start preaching to eradicate the religion ignorant in our people. Thanks for this community.

I (personally) do not have anything against the person who chooses to believe in a deity, I only have a problem when the person wants to impose their beliefs on the next person. As long as the religious continue to force their beliefs into governmental institutions and all the umbrellas that govern all of us, I will have something to say. As long as children are indoctrinated at a tender age and forced to have their bodies strapped with explosives in the name of some idiots' fucked up beliefs, I will have something to say. As long as the sick, vulnerable and desperate people are ripped off by some lazy fucktards who dress in white suits and call themselves 'pastors' only to be told that they weren't healed because they apparently didn't have 'enough faith', I will most definitely have something to say. That's my take, I SALUTE THE FUCKING 'ATHEIST REPUBLIC' AND OTHER REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENTS LIKE IT!!!!

I just want to thank you for creating such a great community. I grew up in a pretty strict christian household and it wasn't until I went to college that I began to step away from religion. Recently I had my first child and my best friend's mother took upon herself to tell me that I was responsible for my daughter's spiritual health and even though I don't believe in god I needed to "save" her. After this happened a couple more times, myself and another atheist friend of mine put her in her place and she hasn't bothered me since. I began following Atheist Republic right before this happened and it was such an amazing thought to know that there were other people out there who shared my thoughts. Atheist Republic really helped me keep my sanity while going through the criticism. Thank you!

Being an Atheist in an otherwise pretty religious town can get lonely at times. Luckily, the internet also has a place where I can talk with others about my belief in facts. Thank you Atheist Republic!

I had joined several sites before to attempt to find an Atheist community, but this site by far outperforms anything out there! Information, debate, reason, and awesome stuff can all be found here in ample supply! I am very glad I found Atheist Republic, and I will not be leaving! It is truly among the best of ports in the storm, as it were.

Having be surrounded and surrounded by people that look down on me of my disbelief, AR is the one place where that doesn't occur. I am very lucky to have a family that excepts me and a father that agrees with me, but it does still get kind of lonely being constantly told either "I'm going to hell" or "I'll pray for you Turner". Atheist Republic is freedom from all of the chained up minds of the bible, and I thank all who participate to make it what it is today. (:

Am from ethiopia where a christianity is dominant...I have been an atheist for a few years now but I have never had any one I can talk to about it. My entire family are christians and when I bring it up, they get mad at me and try and convert me back to a christian. It always ends up in a fight between me and my religion freak family. Thanks AR for your greatest community.

As an atheist doctor who is from Syria I am facing a hard time sharing my thoughts and beliefs. I believe the smartest decision I have ever took is leaving Islam. Although my dad will hate me for this I wish someday I can talk with him briefly about it, and share with my community what I think. This page is a hope for all those hidden atheists that face death every day in a hostile environment. And I would like to thank the ones who created such great thing. Thanks

ATHEISM
I became atheist since last year may 2014. I grew up in an Islamic family. AR is great platforum to express your thoughts and meet with same like minded people. I'm happy that now I'm a atheist - but now it's very hard for me to still live in an islamic state. Trying to found the way to get out from this state and live somewhere else with freedom.

When I first accepted who I was, and that I didn't believe as others did, I felt alone, ostricised, and afraid. It wasn't until I found Casper and AR, that I felt I could actually be who I was. That I wasn't alone. That I wasn't wrong, about what I didn't believe in. So if you are looking for a family that no matter the differences, or disagreements, will still accept you, then Atheist Republic, is your internet home away from home.

Life is beautiful. I come to this website not only as a former Christian, but also as a current professor of religion. Reading the like of Harris, Dawkins, Hitchens, Dennett, Jacoby, et al, has been a liberating experience for me. I propose to help others shake free from the bondage of the mind that religion holds people in.
