No wait, you're interpreting it wrong. It's really a metaphor about love!
The Bible: Anyone who blasphemes the name of the Lord is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
- Leviticus 24:16

Jesus said he came to fulfill the law, not to change it. But Jesus did change the law regarding Blasphemy. Jesus said, you can receive forgiveness if you blaspheme Jesus or God, but if you blaspheme the Holy Spirit, you are hopelessly lost and there is no redemption in this life or the hereafter. Pardon me, but I would call this, "CHANGING THE LAW"!!! Should a religion created and controlled by an omnipotent and omniscient god have these kind of inconsistencies? I don't think so. Seems like these religions are created and controlled by fallible, self-contradictory humans.
