Lol, too true! Plenty of people point out the golden rule and the Bible's code of ethics, but when put into practice, many theists apparently don't understand what it means at all.
The Golden rule is repeated all over the world in one form or another by all sorts of religions. I say the best way to say it is, treat others as they want to be treated if you want to be treated the way you'd like to be treated. Single words to consider to describe the golden rule could be karma, reciprocity or empathy.
Religion is more of a "do as I say, not as I do" type of things and that is something that has always bothered me about it.

Ever notice that religious people bend the "10 Commandments" to fit the convenience of their own lifestyles? The "10 Commandments" are NOT supposed to be multiple choice!! I have also found religious people to be the most unforgiving, and grudge holding of anyone else. It is truly the land of hypocracy.
