Its laughable when Christians claim atheists have no basis for morality. They say that if evolution is true (eliminating their guy in the sky), there is no foundation for morals. In other words, for atheists there is no principled social structure to determine right from wrong.
Time and again their imaginary god kills millions for non-violent offenses, condones murder, rape, theft, genocide, lying, pedophilia etc., condemns people to eternal torture, and orders his sycophants to hack thousands of toddlers to pieces with their swords. Regardless, Christians blindly claim that God is "all good".
How is this so called God supposed to be a model to aspire to?

I just can't get my head around how they can believe this crap in the bible is real, or try to base their lives on it.
I think that most of the problem is that they don't really read the actual bible but interpretations thereof.
Living in a fairy tale world is ridiculous.
If more people would just read the bible without any presuppositions or outside interference from "Learned men," we would be living in a much better world.
I believe it because it gives ME more answers than science does. And you may say its crap Capt. but I say it's the truth. Christians base their lives on it because it explains more. And saying that OUR God is evil, its like saying the Devil is perfect. Its not true.
Your god and your devil are one and the same ....Made up.
Science explains a whole lot more than the bible does and on top of the provides real explanations.
Maybe in your imaginary world, but out where there isn't any sky daddy, which happens to be many, the consensus is that he's just a figment of your and others imagination. Another one of many other deities that came before and were as imaginary as he is. Flail against your neigh Sayers all you want, but after 2 millennia you still can't prove he exists so either prove it of STFU.
Atheist that i know some believe that the Devil is real but not God. I mean yeah the Devil is gorgeous, he's an angel that was casted out of Heaven due to greediness and craving of all the power that God has. And yeah science has explanation but the Bible has way more answers to give us when we have questions.
I have never met an atheist who thinks the devil is real.
I said that I KNOW
Yes, and I don't believe you.
The bible has a certain types of answers, the kind that are baseless and made up to make people stop asking the questions they are designed for. it leads to ignorance and laziness. The because God said so and so it shall be variety only theist would accept. By the way Atheist don't believe in the devil and I don't believe in you, because nobody is is as ignorant as you let on. Hence don't take offense because I am say you not so ignorant it's actually a compliment to say your smarter than you let on.
The Bible is a bronze age book of lies. Immoral stories about, slavery, genocide, torture, child abuse....lots of perverse stuff in both the old and new testament.
Enjoy this tidbit of gospel porn:
Genesis, chapter 19. Verses 30 to 36.
30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. 31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. 33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. 34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. 35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. 36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
Good ol biblical morals....
For clarity, none of the immoral laws that are authorized and regulated in the Old Testament law – sexual slavery, polygamy, coerced marriage of young girls—are reversed, revised, or condemned by Jesus. To the contrary, the writer of Matthew puts these words in the mouth of Jesus:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law [the Old Testament] until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)
It's really hard to understand why the bible's description of Yahweh in the old testament is very opposite to the characteristics of a god as they know it to be. Having a god with such malevolent characteristic of disciplining his children is like living in chaos.
