It wasn't like an actual explosion, but did expand faster than anything can travel within it.
Things I learn from research. I have never found however any evidence of a god ever existing.
I guess that's why I hang out on here.
But Religious people often come on here, and think they know better with no evidence.
I ain't going on faith alone.

Stoned again hun!
@Cog
I wish.
It is just things I learned from video clips.
The universe was suppose to have expanded faster than light for a period of time. Yet nothing can travel faster through space. I love science.
1+0, make it difficult damn it. LOL.
A more precise version might read: information can not travel faster than c (speed of light in a vacuum). In this case the subtle difference is really important.
@Fievel: What in the hell makes you think the universe is traveling through space?
We know what space is. We have no idea at all what is beyond the universe or what was before it.
Can you demonstrate that space exists outside the known universe? Can you demonstrate the known space of the universe is expanding into some unknown space?
@Cog
No but we can observe certain parts of space moving away from us. Observation tells us it is still expanding, into what I don't know.
Of course we don't know what's beyond the space we can observe, but like I said we do know it is still expanding.
@Fievel Mousekewitz: Then why do you insist on making absolute assertions about the universe moving at the speed of light into empty space. It just makes you sound silly.
He found an herb (plant??? - I don’t know I’m not a botanist) that brings him joy ;)
@Whitefire13
Nothing wrong with pot. LOL.
@White: Must have been all the fruits that people have been tossing about.
Big Bang
Not big
No bang
Otherwise true.
@Algebe
"Not big
No bang
Otherwise true."
Well yeah. There was a rapid expansion though at one time.
@Fievel Mousekewitz: This is just the way your posts go. First you say something utterly and completely silly, and then you spend the rest of the thread backpedaling. Why not just stop pretending you know shit when you don't?
@Cog
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIJTwYOZrGU
@Fievel: Already the good doctor is wrong when he asserts nothing goes faster than the speed of light..... But we know the universe expanded faster than light, we know quantum entanglement is faster than light, I have heard an argument for gravity waves moving faster than light but I don't think anything has come of it yet.
"Here's the short answer: That question doesn't make sense. The universe is everything, so it isn't expanding into anything. It's just expanding. All of the galaxies in the universe are moving away from each other, and every region of space is being stretched, but there's no center they're expanding from and no outer edge to expand into anything else."
Demonstrate where he says the universe is expanding into space. Then I can demonstrate that that assumption is wrong as well. https://www.discovery.com/science/Universe-Is-Expanding
Get ready for some more backpedaling.
"The universe is everything."...
What evidence do you have to back up that assertion?
"correct" Everything we know of. I stand corrected. Actually it was a statement by some physicist who was expressing the fact that we know of nothing else.
@Homer: ON THE OTHER HAND---- Your Question is fucking retarded. "Did you notice the QUOTATION MARKS." I don't need anything to back up any kind of assertion at all. IT WAS A FUCKING QUOTE. Watch the video if you want to know who said it and why.
I read the article linked. I don't see a video. I didn't get any evidence for that assertion from the article. I assumed you agreed with the author, and had the answer. I wasn't trying to correct anyone, I didn't know of there was something to the assertion, some sort of science that backs up assertions like that.
When you assume "U make an ASS out of U and ME." Stop assuming. ASK!
I did ask. Apparently I didn't ask with the proper tie in to the article and clarify who was asserting exactly what. I apologize for any assumption that generated a question.
I just wanted to know about whether or not there was some theory that states the universe being everything. And for that matter your own assertion that the "universe is everything we know of". Does the limits of our knowledge have a darn thing to do with what the universe is? Is what we "don't know of" not the universe then?
I'm just trying to gain an understanding of what is being asserted by you and/or the author of what the limits or the lack of limits the universe has via that article or any joined theory.
RE: I did ask! Good for you. Keep it up. Nothing cures religion like knowledge'
Great, I still would appreciate and answer to this:
"And for that matter your own assertion that the "universe is everything we know of". Does the limits of our knowledge have a darn thing to do with what the universe is? Is what we "don't know of" not the universe then?"
The universe being everything is not a theory, it is a definition.
What about multiverses then?
Homer, oh Hoser - google search!!!!
There is no testable evidence for “Multiverse”...it is a hypothesis (with suggestions for one day testing) competing with other hypothesis (Simulation) (scientific imagination).... read some of the papers.
I know multiverse is theoretical. We're getting right back to "everything" being bound to human knowledge.
@homersimpsondoh
Everything we know the truth about, ends up being from natural origin.
That does not mean that what we don't know about, is attributed to a god or nature...it means, we don't know.
However, so far, we have no reason to believe that what we don't know, occurs because of supernaturalism...as no supernatural things have ever occured in history. Physics validates this.
You see mr, I fail at basic human reason, until objective evidence validates something, there is no reason to believe in it.
You going to hang a stocking out for santa this year?
ROTFLMAO.
I'm not trying to even imply an argument about a creator. I'm just trying to follow along and ask questions along the conversation already going on. If you catch me steering anything towards faith, point it out and I'll course correct.
So you now want me to forget you have faith in woo woo beliefs...sorry, can't do that.
I'm not asking you to. I'm just not trying to steer this discussion towards that. Statements are being made about what the universe is and I'm asking questions. You don't need to forget I have faith, if I espouse it here, call me out.
...and hence why I posted what I did...I answered your question. Is your cognitive dissonance not allowing you to see that I answered your question?
