Kristina Vindiola, an Arizona woman who is also a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, said a woman outside a Phoenix Walmart hit her on the arm because Vindiola greeted her with “Happy Holidays” and not “Merry Christmas.”
While speaking to WCPO Cincinnati, Vindiola said, “The lady came up to me and I thought she was going to put money in the kettle. She asked ‘Do you believe in God? You’re supposed to say Merry Christmas,’ and then she hit me.”
According to the attacker, Christmas is a celebration of Christ’s birth and she is likely to get offended if that sentiment is not reciprocated. Vindiola said the Salvation Army has no policy on what its bell ringers have to say while greeting people. Vindiola plans to take legal action against her attacker but Phoenix Police has told Vindiola that the surveillance video did not provide them with enough evidence to arrest the woman.

If I just happened to be silly enough to believe in Roman mythology as actual fact... would I be justified in hitting someone for not saying "Happy Saturnalia" rather than "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas"? I'm sure any Christian out there would read that story and think I was "off my rocker", but they'll read this story and think the abuser is a "saint". Quite honestly anyone who celebrates "Christmas" and claims to be a Christian either hasn't read the bible, or simply doesn't care to follow it. There is a DIRECT PRESCRIPTION in Jeremiah 10:1-25 against celebrating this very PAGAN holiday.
How about we celebrate "Christmas" once you Christians prove the man was real, prove he was actually the "son of God", and then figure out when his actual damn birthday was. Until then, how about you folks quit hijacking every fun thing you see and then claiming it was your creation. Hell, your whole damn religion is stolen. Scientologists may be bat-shit crazy... but at least their original!
