A propaganda clip recently released by the terrorist group Islamic State features, among other things, portions of Republican Michele Bachmann’s raging speech that she delivered at the 2014 Values Voter Summit in September.
Even though the propaganda video shows Bachmann blurred out, the voice and excerpt from September’s event makes it clear that the person in the video is no one but herself. Some viewers have speculated that Bachmann has been blurred out in the video because staunch Islamic views suggest men should not view women who are not dressed in ‘appropriate’ attire.
In the speech, delivered on September 26, Bachmann urged President Barack Obama to declare war on Islam, saying, “What we need to do is defeat the Islamic jihad.”
Islamic State’s video also made note of Bachmann’s harsh declaration. “Sadly, our president has the wrong prescription. … He even fails to acknowledge their motivations for bringing out jihad. Yes, Mr. President, it is about Islam! And I believe if you have an evil of an order of this magnitude, you take it seriously. You declare war on it, you don’t dance around it. Just like the Islamic State has declared war on the United States of America. … You kill their leader, you kill their counsel, you kill their army until they waive the white flag of surrender. That’s how you win a war.”
