In an attempt to parody the popular exercise regimen CrossFit, comedy group The Kloons made a Cross Fit by Jesus video and posted it to their Facebook page last month but this seems to have disturbed many Christians. They have lashed out against it, with the protests across social media having reached a peak on June 4.
The video features an introduction from founder JC and follows up with testimonials from believers like, “They say we all have our own crosses to bear. It's just that when I bear mine, I engage my obliques.”
The parody workout requires adherents to exercise with a wooden cross strapped to the back.
“With CrossFit, you can turn every daily routine into a divine calorie burning experience,” the voice-over narrates.
While some viewers are angry that the holy Christian symbol has been used disrespectfully as a prop in the video, others did manage to laugh it off in a light-hearted manner. However many viewers simply visited the page because it grew exceedingly popular on a Reddit thread on r/atheism created by one of the creators of the Cross Fit by Jesus video.
