During their January 6 show on Generations Radio, Pastors Dave Buehner and Kevin Swanson seemed distraught over a float at the Rose Bowl parade that included a married gay couple which, not only went off without incident but also won an award, despite receiving attacks from numerous anti-gay activists.
As part of his dialogue with fellow show host, Buehner said, “I wonder what the Rose Bowl parade would do if we had the stoning of a homosexual along the parade just as an expression of free speech and all that,” to which Swanson replied, “I think that would be rejected by the Rose Bowl parade committee.”
Buehner seemed worried that AIDS Healthcare Foundation sponsored the float and said that the organization’s pro-homosexual propaganda is likely to spread AIDS rather than curtail it. Soon after, Swanson mocked a same-sex wedding between two homosexual hairstylists that took place atop a wedding cake-shaped float during the parade.
During the show, the duo also referred to the legalization of gay marriages as “the degradation of society” and said that the homosexual community was “coming after Christians”. Swanson referred to the issue as “a battle between good and evil” and warned his viewers that “the other side” would destroy Christians unless the government begins to “prosecute homosexuality, especially public acts of homosexuality”.
“Once the majority believes in this idea, others will lose their jobs. That’s the goal, to make sure they lose their jobs, to make sure that they are persecuted, to make sure that they may even be burned at the stake. I don’t know what the whole agenda is but it seems to me that this may be a battle between good and evil and evil will not tolerate good. Good may tolerate evil to some extent but I think also we have to draw lines ourselves and encourage the civil magistrate to prosecute homosexuality, especially public acts of homosexuality. When Christians are a little wimpy addressing the issue of homosexuality, get ready friends, Christians will be destroyed by the other side,” said Swanson.
