A Christian pastor recently preached that the world could celebrate an AIDS-free Christmas this year, if all gays were executed by December 24. In his sermon titled ‘AIDS: The Judgment of God’, homophobic pastor and hate-preacher Steven Anderson addressed members of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona, telling the congregation that the Bible advocates genocide for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
“Anybody who's a homo or bi - it's all the same category - sodomite is what the Bible would call them,” he said.
Just before World AIDS Day, which was observed on December 1, Anderson said the world had been brainwashed about the disease, which according to him is God’s judgment for all sins on earth.
During the sermon, Anderson stomped his feet and ranted about how he had discovered the cure for AIDS in the book of Leviticus.
He said, “We can have an AIDS-free world by Christmas. Okay, it wouldn’t be totally AIDS free, but we’d be like 90-some percent AIDS free by Christmas if we follow this. ... If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, even both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. … And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along - and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable - right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.”
As the audience applauded Anderson, he went on to cite apparent statistics that he claimed proves the contraction of HIV is directly related to being gay. Somewhere along the line, he also warned that queers were not allowed in his church, boasting unabashedly about how there is no law against that rule. Anderson went on to insist that all gay people are pedophiles and a threat to children within a congregation, while urging his listeners to condemn homosexuality since that act can help them better express their faith in Christianity and God.
