About the Author
I am an American, although I have lived in Asia for more than 20 years. I was born into a Christian family, but could never quite believe, although I gave it a good try. My Grandmother used to good naturedly call me a "heathen," and how right she was. I came out as a non-believer to family and friends when I went to college. I enjoy reading about comparative mythology.
Is there some atheist bible laying around telling us that divorce and abortion are bad, or are some people just still mired in the mindset of religion and continue to assume that these things are bad?
These are not books critiquing the things you already know you don’t agree with, they are books about understanding your world, and yourself without religion.
Quite often in the Atheist Republic’s members’ page, people ask about the best way to respond to theists. So I thought I’d offer up the best one I’ve ever come across that has worked every time for me: Just laugh.
