It looks like you are sorting all the posts in descending title order (and so the star and the round double-quotes are "winning".
(I'm even putting a character with high unicode code in the beginning of this post's title to test this: "￮", U+FFEE, "halfwidth white circle".)
EDIT: My post (still?) didn't make it to the frontpage with this trick. Anyway, change the sorting criteria to show more relevant posts on the frontpage.

That is not how the site is normally sorted. Perhaps you encountered that when something was wrong with the server. If it is still happening, let us know.
It still looks the same to me — save that, as expected, now this post is on the top of the list because of the high Unicode character at the beginning. I even opened it on another browser to check if it was due to a cookie or something, but it's the same:

A great topic I just found. I found this to be a perfect choice. Geometry dash is a 2D game with a simple theme of controlling a geometric block to overcome the challenges included in this game.
